Seven candles and some carnies....

We had a super busy weekend!  The weekend began Friday night with E having a couple friends over to spend the night and celebrate his 7th birthday.  Where has the time gone????  While they may only be seven, the boys think they are teenagers, and celebrated with an ice cream cake, pizza, and video games.  I was so grateful that Hubs stayed up to supervise.

In our small town, Memorial Weekend means the carnival is in town.  For as long as I can remember the carnival rolls into town the week prior and packs up on Memorial Day.  We aren't carnival people.  Hubs was born and raised in Orlando-- our little carnival is not that impressive to him.  The idea of traveling rides and carnies really does nothing for me, and if given the option we would steer clear of the event.  However, one soccer practice and the word is out, "Mom, the carnival is in town".  I am sure the two oldest had heard prior to then, but that was the first they had mentioned to me.  E knows it is every year during his birthday, so there isn't any secret to it anymore anyhow.  Alas, we took our three, plus one more, too the carnival for the hour of free rides on Saturday morning.  I love the idea that I don't have to pay to do something I would rather not do, plus the lines are short because it is early in the day.  The kids got to ride everything they wanted and no harm was done.  Happy birthday E!

A place to gather....

This is no surprise, but we are a busy family. I want this to be a place to gather, but most importantly, I need a place to keep me on track.  I spend way too much time reading other blogs, but don't necessarily accomplish all the things I could.  I am still trying to figure out what life without a baby looks like.  My youngest is three, and only has two more years of preschool.  D starts kindergarten in the fall and E will be 2nd grade.  Oh my!

I am trying to reconnect with who I am.  I love running, but need to get more of it in. I started over a year ago, and am absolutely obsessed with it right now.  We spent the weekend in D.C. and I was all sorts of envious of all those people running on the mall.  While I loved pushing my children along to the next destination, I would of paid good money to lace up my Brooks and run off on all of them.

I will take  you along for a ride and keep you posted on all our happenings.  Thanks for taking a look, and considering an invitation into my life.  Peace!
